Panasonic DMR-XS350 Freesat+ DVD Digital Box (250GB)
The Panasonic DMR-XS350 Freesat+ DVD Digital Box is one of three new digital receivers to enter the Freesat market. This specific model not only includes the Freesat satellite receiver, but also boasts an in-built DVD recorder, as well as PVR functionality from the 250GB hard drive, allowing you to record programmes on Freesat, as well as transfer material between HDD and DVD.
This unit come with Freesat twin tuners allowing you with the aid of two cables from your satellite dish the ability to record two channels whilst playing back a previously recorded programme; or alternatively recording two channels whilst watching a DVD disc.
The Panasonic DMR-XS350 comes compatible with Viera Cast, Panasonic’s proprietary internet portal that’s standard across its entire 2009 PVR range and many of its latest televisions. This base-range model has on-board decoders for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio; perfect for those that enjoy watching films in surround sound.
Complete with an SD card slot and 2 USB connections, the digital receivers will be able to access your stored music and images to enjoy on your television, not just your PC. The hard drive also comes loaded with a built-in music jukebox with 350,000 album and song titles pre-installed from the Gracenote database. This can be updated via the web using the recorder’s Ethernet connection, which will also be compatible with BBC iPlayer due for launch in the Autumn 2009.
