The award winning Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ HD 320GB twin tuner hard drive receiver from Humax, for use on the Freesat satellite television platform.
This sleek black unit with smoked perspex front panel hides the very latest in PVR technology, allowing you to record up to 160 hours of standard-definition programming, or 80 hours in high-definition on the internal 320GB hard drive. This unit also carries a leading 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.
This Freesat+ twin tuner receiver offers similar functionality to Sky+, but without the subscription costs. By connecting two cables from your satellite dish to this FOXSAT-HDR PVR unit, you can record one channel whilst watching/recording or another; or even record two channels whilst playing back something you've previously recorded (note you can connect up to a single satellite dish cable, but you’ll be limited to recording the channel you are on only). Combine this with the efficient Freesat EPG, setting up recordings couldn't be easier, just find the programme you want, press record, and that's it, no manual timers.
Connections include HDMI, 2 x Scart (TV, VCR), Audio Optical Out (S/PDIF), 2 x USB, Composite and 2 x LNB In (1 x LNB Out). The unit also includes an Ethernet port allowing access to on-demand services including BBC iPlayer and ITV Player.
Don't forget that you'll need two cables from your satellite dish to this receiver to fully utilise the Freesat+ record functionality. With just a single cable you can still record the channel you are watching, and receive updates, but won't be able to record one channel whilst recording/watching another.

Can't seem to connect my Humax to the internet via a TP-Link unit which I've just bought, description says ethernet port 'for future use' and then says in summary an ethernet port to watch BBC iPlayer? what's what! otherwise a very good product, oh! and I do have handset response issues too!

My parents are very pleased with this, we got them it for christmas but for some reason they keep getting the information symbol in a circle and a warning that the TV will switch off by idle TV standby. How can we rectifiy this for them? Is there something in the settings we can change to stop this happening? **Satbuyer response - This unit has an auto-standby mode just in case the unit is accidently left on, instructions on how to disable this are on page GB46 of the user manual**

Hi, I have the same receiver and thought mine was faulty. Open the drop down front panel and suddenly your IR remote will behave properly! Sadly through very bad design they have recessed the IR receptor too much and to add to the insult it is very narrow axiallly too. Otherwisw a great machine. I do hope they have not fallen for this with their Freeview HD PVR or I wont be buying one!

Cannot fault the box, however instructions are poor. Does anyone have a better user guide?

As everyone says, great product, even more so now I have bought a quality HDMI cable but the REMOTE is very poor!! Have all the problems that everyone seems to come across, slow response and currently the OK button does nothing then all of a sudden it does something totally different! I have written to Humax whose service and help is very good but it seems that they have not yet addressed these problems, only thing that lets it down.

Thanks for your excellent service.I would like to point out that the Humax HDR is rather clever with just one feed, and in different combinations can record one programme while watching another.Even possible to record 2 and watch another. For example record 103 ITV
and 105 Channel 5 watch BBC Ni 957.Try it it works.Google FoxsatRecordCheck to find a guide.Having problems with the remote, lowering the front flap on the box will make it more responsive. **Satbuyer response** make sure you remove both film coatings, they can be found on the front facia, and the small window inside the front facia, this will help the infrared signals.

I bought this in the UK for use in France - hooked up by HDMI to a HD sony 40". Brilliant picture both in SD and HD much better than Sky. Not happy with the i button - when looking through various channels to see whats on if you push the i button again to view information you can no longer scroll through other chanels you have to exit and start again.
Also the angle at which the remote works is very acute. Sometimes have to get off my seat and move the remote more full on for it to work, whereas with the sky remote it worked where ever you are it even bounced of walls. There is a lot of nice things about the guide and program scolling features but I thing Humax could learn a lot from the sky system.

Fast delivery. Easy installation by friend (we're not technically minded). Works perfectly now after reading ADMIN'S advice to Ray about pressing PVR input button first.
Last word BRILLIANT

Delivered quickly - impressed.
Installed easily. Already had old Sky dish so it meant fitting an extra cable.
Usually works fine.
However, for no apparent reason box stops responding to handset. Turn everything off and on again but this does not resolve matter every time.
Therefore, contacted Satbuyer and Humax. Awaiting reply.
