The award winning Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ HD Digital Box is the latest twin tuner 320gb hard drive receiver from Humax, for use on the Freesat satellite television platform.
This sleek black unit with smoked perspex front panel hides the very latest in PVR technology, allowing you to record up to 160 hours of standard-definition programming, or 80 hours in high-definition.
For use on the Freesat satellite television platform, this twin tuner receiver offers similar functionality to Sky+, without the subscription costs. By connecting two cables from your satellite dish to this PVR, you can record one channel whilst watching/recording or another; or even record two channels whilst playing back something you've previously recorded. Combing this with the Freesat EPG, setting up recordings couldn't be easier, just find the programme you want, press record, and that's it, no manual timers.
Connections include HDMI, Scart, Optical Out and LNB In (x 2). The Humax PVR also has two USB ports, one front, one back and will be capable of linking up to an external hard drive for further storage capacity. The included Ethernet port will allow data transfer via FTP client to your computer, allowing for 100mb/sec transfer speeds; this however is a planned addition for a future roll out (not available from launch).
Don't forget that you'll need two cables from your satellite dish to this receiver to fully utilise the Freesat+ record functionality. With just a single cable you can still record the channel you are watching, and receive updates, but won't be able to record one channel whilst recording/watching another.

Thanks for your excellent service.I would like to point out that the Humax HDR is rather clever with just one feed, and in different combinations can record one programme while watching another.Even possible to record 2 and watch another. For example record 103 ITV
and 105 Channel 5 watch BBC Ni 957.Try it it works.Google FoxsatRecordCheck to find a guide.Having problems with the remote, lowering the front flap on the box will make it more responsive. **Satbuyer response** make sure you remove both film coatings, they can be found on the front facia, and the small window inside the front facia, this will help the infrared signals.

I bought this in the UK for use in France - hooked up by HDMI to a HD sony 40". Brilliant picture both in SD and HD much better than Sky. Not happy with the i button - when looking through various channels to see whats on if you push the i button again to view information you can no longer scroll through other chanels you have to exit and start again.
Also the angle at which the remote works is very acute. Sometimes have to get off my seat and move the remote more full on for it to work, whereas with the sky remote it worked where ever you are it even bounced of walls. There is a lot of nice things about the guide and program scolling features but I thing Humax could learn a lot from the sky system.

Fast delivery. Easy installation by friend (we're not technically minded). Works perfectly now after reading ADMIN'S advice to Ray about pressing PVR input button first.
Last word BRILLIANT

Delivered quickly - impressed.
Installed easily. Already had old Sky dish so it meant fitting an extra cable.
Usually works fine.
However, for no apparent reason box stops responding to handset. Turn everything off and on again but this does not resolve matter every time.
Therefore, contacted Satbuyer and Humax. Awaiting reply.

I'm another very satisfied purchaser of the HUMAX Foxsat - HDR! Delivered to my address in France in double quick time and worked first time. As per unit description, two cables fitted!
Two very minor problems.
Firstly - recorded programmes frequently end BEFORE the end of the transmission. And I can't work out why.
Secondly, there's an annoying delay between clicks when for example scrolling through programme details.
But all in all an excellent purchase.

Living in France, I got the Foxsat in quick time with 100m of cable an LNB with 8 outputs...
Except tilting the dish slightly (added weight of cables and LNB I expect) it started 1st time...
It does "stick" requiring a re-boot sometimes - I consider it is when new channels have been added.
With a really cheap HD tv, the link (using HDMI) is fiddly by requiring the Foxsat to be started on a HD Channel - no problems like this occus using a G10 Panasonic however.
The pre and after sales service to my questions have been great with the 2 really quick deliveries of a standard Foxsat also on time.

It does what it says on the box, the service has been good and the equipment no problem. Instructions took me a while but I am not a teenager.
